Matt Dennis
Matt’s interest in cars and motorsport started at a young age, from the age of 7 he had a keen interest in rallying and regularly raced karts, at the age of 14 his interest switched to performance vehicles and he started helping Brian out with his Jedi single seat racing car that he raced in sprint climb single seat class.
At 16 Matt left school and completed a 3 year college course in advanced engineering and vehicle mechanics achieving NVQ level 3.
He spent the next few years working for the AA where he quickly became one of their youngest workshop managers, he then moved back to his roots and joined Subaru predominantly maintaining and tuning the Impreza’s in association with Prodrive.
In 2004 Matt was recruited to help set up a unique training facility in Worcestershire for ArmorGroup and it was here his driver training career started.
Having initially been sent over to Westpoint Virginia to undertake his own training he then brought back that knowledge and expertise and, combined with two ex UK special forces colleagues, they set up ArmorGroup International Training Facility to specialise in Hostile Environment Awareness Training, Close Protection Driver Training Including Instinctive and Evasive driver training.
Matt quickly completed his teaching qualifications (city and Guilds 7302) and then added the NPTC instructors qualification in off road driving and winching.
Over the last 10 years they have trained thousands of clients and Matt himself has trained international and Uk special forces, international and UK specialist police units, International and UK close protection teams (Most notably the on the highly acclaimed Phoenix CP Course), Government agencies and private contractors operating in hostile environments.
